BIOGRAPHY
Terry Scott is a 14-year resident and seasoned businessman, futurist and philanthropist who has a passion for building a stronger future and committed to getting things done.
He has served as the Vice Mayor of Benicia and currently is a member of the Benicia City Council.
His commitment to public service is evident through his participation on the City’s Tax Oversight Commission, CURE Commission, CAP/Valero Advisory Panel, Tula Sister City Program, several Solano Transit Authority commissions, WETA Ferry 2050 Visioning Team and has been appointed Board Chair of SolTrans for an unprecedented three terms.
Prior to his election to City Council he was a founder and Executive Director of the Benicia Community Foundation, Chair of the Benicia Arts and Culture Commission for 6 years and Chair of the Benicia Public Art Committee.
Terry’s professional journey includes over 20 years at Hasbro, lnc., where he served as the Senior Vice President and Global Head of Brand Creative Services. He managed an international team of over 700 employees with an annual budget of $1.7 billion.
He also served in the role of founder and Executive Producer of Hasbro’s theatrical production facility, Cake Mix Studios, which contributed to blockbuster Hollywood movie projects including Transformers, GI Joe, My Little Pony, Marvel’s Spiderman and Ironman series and collaborated with
Lucas Films on Star Wars Episodes I, II and III as well as the Indiana Jones series.
Before joining Hasbro, Terry operated a management visioning firm, Advertising Agency and published a magazine in Florida.
Terry Scott earned a B.S. Degree from Kent State University and completed the Executive Studies program at Dartmouth College–Tuck School of Business.
His spouse Randi is a forensic archeologist and serves as Deputy Director of the national Forensic Archaeology Recovery organization. She is also active in Benicia serving as a board member of the Museum of History—Benicia. She is a former member of the Incident Management Team for Solano County Search and Rescue and former board member of Arts Benicia.
Terry and Randi celebrate their 50 year anniversary this September. They have two sons and a granddaughter.
