Why I Am Running For ReElection

I love this city. I have served it with everything I have, and I am proud of what we have accomplished together. But the work is not finished.

The closure of the Valero refinery is not just a budget problem — it is a defining moment that will shape Benicia’s identity for decades. The decisions made by the next City Council will determine whether we emerge from this transition stronger, more diverse, and more resilient — or whether we stumble into austerity and drift.

I have the experience as Vice Mayor and Councilmember, the relationships, and the vision to help lead Benicia through this transition. I know how regional government works. I know how to build coalitions, compete for grants, negotiate with developers, and hold the line on fiscal discipline — all while keeping faith with the values that make Benicia worth fighting for.

Every resident who has ever walked along the waterfront at sunset, watched their kids play at a city park, or felt the warmth of this community at a downtown event — that is what we are protecting. That is what this campaign is about.

Unfortunately, running a campaign requires financial support and volunteers.

Here’s how you can help:

Please consider donating to the campaign so we can reach every voter in Benicia with our message. Please click the link to donate

Or commit to volunteer your time to help me knock on doors, staff events, put up signs.

You know the drill, just email me at: terryscottforbenicia@gmail.com.

I am asking for your support, your voice, and your vote. Together, we will make sure Benicia’s best days are still ahead.

My Best, Terry
