I love this City. I have served it with everything I have, and I am proud of what we have accomplished together.

But loving this City means seeing it clearly, both the challenges and the extraordinary opportunities that lie ahead of us.

 

The closure of Valero is now a reality, but so is the potential to reimagine that site, revitalize our waterfront, strengthen our downtown, encourage economic and housing development, and attract the businesses, industries and technologies of tomorrow.

 

While fiscal work is not finished, the foundation we have built together makes us ready to seize what comes next.

 

Seizing this moment requires experienced fiscal leadership, clear vision, and proven results. That is exactly why I'm running for re-election.

In my first term, we balanced the budget, reorganized and consolidated departments, optimized staff, improved efficiencies, economized purchasing, moved to priority-based budgeting, generated new revenue streams, and addressed air quality and safety.

 

However, our work is not done.

My campaign is about the future; protecting our quality of life while honoring our past and embracing the transformative change our community demands.
